Noel Clarke is to get the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award in the coming BAFTAs. The awards are scheduled for the next month.
Harry Potter films, Kenneth Branagh, Curzon Cinemas and John Hurt are honoured for the previous top awards of BAFTA.
In the 2021 ceremony of the Academy’s awards, Noel Clarke will be given the award for his role in “bringing diversity to British screens in front and behind the camera”. The actor is famous for his roles in Bulletproof, Auf Wiedersehen, Doctor Who and Pet.
Clarke set up his own production company in 2007 named Unstoppable Entertainment. The production company was aimed at bringing diversity to movies. He then moved to television.

This award is given every year at BAFTA in honour of MichealBalcon, who worked at West London’s Ealing Studios. The award was given to Andy Serkis of Lord of the Rings in the awards ceremony of 2020.
Chairman Film Committee BAFTA’s, Marc Samuelson, said “Noel is an inspiration to me and many others, for his central and much-needed role in supporting and championing diverse voices in the British film industry”. Noel Clarke has achieved the honour of a filmmaker from a respected actor very soon in his career, he added. He called him multi-hyphenate and he is an all-in-one actor, writer, director and producer.
His work in the Hood trilogy is superb to gain him recognition in British cinema. The documentary portrayed London Life authentically. The actor continues to push the boundaries with great work.
The production company of the actor, Unstoppable Entertainment, is giving chance to the talent from the under-represented groups. The actor is on the way to his success with this company.
The Film Committee chairman also said that he could not find anyone more deserving recipient of this award for the year 2021 than Noel Clarke.
The actor is thankful for the recognition and acknowledgement of his work for British cinema in the last two decades. He is enthusiastic to continue with the ground-breaking work. He has a vision of giving chances and opening doors for the under-represented people. He wants to give chance to those who hardly get a chance.
The actor is currently starring in Sky Original film SAS Red Notice while Andy Serkis and Ruby Rose are alongside.
The ceremony of BAFTA film awards will be held on April 11, Sunday. The viewers can watch it on BBC One.
