Sponsored by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Authority in the Ministry of Culture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the activities of the Al-Mu’allaqa Competition 45 program were launched in its first edition, which Through it, a group of poets from the Arab world compete for huge prizes prepared for the first three winners. The aim of this competition is usually to revive poetic compositions that were woven by the imagination of the first Arab poets and which are appreciated and sacred by Arab society in general and are broadcast on Shahid, Al-Thaqafiya, and MBC channels.
It is the largest award ever in the Arab world, and among the poets participating in it is the poet Zaki Al-Ali, who is considered one of the first poets of the line in his country, Iraq, and its Arab surroundings, and whose two poetry collections of his work Blue Blood and Nirvana, have previously been translated into the English language, and he qualified for the semi-final stage, along with other poets. so that the competition will intensify in the next stage, and his participation has been widely welcomed by the Arab public. Zaki Al-Ali represents his country in this competition, and he is the only poet from Iraq to participate in it, along with a group of poets from various Arab countries.
