Dr. Nisha Sundaragopal, widely known as Dr. Sun, continues to shine as one of today’s most dynamic leaders in community service, healthcare, arts, and global empowerment. In April 2025, she was honored with the prestigious Iron Lady of the Year Award and received the re-coronation of her title, Mrs. X Universe, during a historic ceremony at the House of Lords in the UK Parliament in London.
The program, hosted by Mydream TV USA Entertainment under the leadership of Janak Bedi and Rashmi Bedi, celebrated trailblazing women whose work transcends borders. The crown, sash, award, and certificate were presented by Natasha Asghar, Shadow Cabinet Secretary of Education from the Welsh Parliament and a representative of the Welsh Conservative Party, on April 28, 2025.
A Reigning Queen With a Purpose
Dr. Sun is the current reigning Mrs. X Universe, a title she originally earned through the My Dream Texas Universe Pageant. Her win advanced her to represent the USA at Mrs. Universe USA in New Jersey, and later to serve internationally as a Director and Advisory Chief for Texas at the 48th Mrs. Universe Pageant held in Manila, Philippines.
Her journey with the Mydream platform has been one of growth, service, and remarkable achievement. She recalls her 2024 crowning at the Stafford Civic Center in Texas as a milestone moment surrounded by community leaders, crowned by Mydream CEO Rashmi Bedi, and joined by celebrity guest Aditi Sharma, Miss South Asia World 2023.
A Distinguished Dental Career Rooted in Compassion
Beyond the pageant world, Dr. Nisha is a highly respected general dentist and geriatric dental specialist, serving the Katy, Texas community for 13 years. She is approaching her 25th year of dental practice in 2026, marking her silver jubilee as an international dentist.
Her practice, Smile Rangers Dental, is a well-known name in Katy, celebrating nine years of service and recognized for its patient-centered care and educational outreach. Dr. Sun’s belief in holistic health and community well-being extends throughout her clinical work and beyond.
A Global Advocate for Cancer Support and Awareness
One of Dr. Nisha Sundaragopal’s most impactful areas of service is her extensive work supporting cancer patients and survivors. Using her platform with Mydream, she has helped raise funds and awareness through partnerships with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and various cancer centers.
Funds raised from the 2021 and 2022 Miss Bharat Texas Pageant, coordinated by Director Komal Khatri, were matched through United Health and donated specifically to support cancer programs. The 2021 contribution was led by Mrs. Bharat Texas winner Ina Mishra as part of an ongoing commitment to uplift survivors and families.
Dr. Sun has also spearheaded cancer awareness walks across major cities, promoting early detection and life-saving education. Her most notable initiative was the Cancer Awareness March held at the South Lawn of the Austin Capitol on August 22, 2021, supported by Senator Brandon Creighton and State Representative Jacy Jetton.

Dr. Nisha’s nonprofit, V Care Trust, is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting children and women in academics, sports, arts, and cultural enrichment. Through programs such as Vidyaarti – Student Number One and Kalaisangamam, she creates opportunities for youth to explore their talents and develop confidence.
Her significant charitable work also includes ongoing support for the Houston Food Bank and emergency service initiatives for underserved communities.
An Artist, Fashion Innovator, and Cultural Ambassador
Beyond healthcare and philanthropy, Dr. Sun is an accomplished dancer, performer, and fashion designer. Her fashion brand, Q Closet, promotes spiritual and cultural expression through thematic, sustainable fashion. She has gained attention globally for her shows that fuse minimalist design with deeper meaning, earning coverage during Paris Fashion Week and Los Angeles Fashion Week.
Her artistic talents span roller-skate dance, ice-skate performance, hula-hoop dance, aerobic dance, and folk styles. Trained extensively in Bharatanatyam, she recently performed her Artra piece illustrating the Navarasas, the nine emotional essences of Indian classical arts, paired with powerful spoken performances by student Aishwarya Kotla during the Kalaisangamam program. The event was inaugurated by Fort Bend Commissioner Andy Meyers and Sugar Land City Council Member Carol McCutcheon.
Recognized With the Yellow Rose of Texas
For her deep commitment to public service and mentorship, Dr. Nisha was honored with the Yellow Rose of Texas Award, bestowed by Governor Greg Abbott. Her mentorship of Katy ISD students, particularly in emergency preparedness, flood-relief projects, and community health initiatives, has created a meaningful, long-term impact. Her mentees, Aysha and Rochell,e were also honored with the Yellow Rose of Texas for their work under Dr. Sun’s guidance.
A Vision for Global Empowerment
Through her dedication, Dr. Sun has held several leadership roles within Mydream, including State Director, Vice President, Senior Vice President, and Advisory Chief of Miss Bharat Texas. Her influence has helped expand the platform’s support for special needs children, autistic youth, and cancer victims.
