If loud guitars, profound lyrics, and hard rock music that hits you in the chest are your thing, it’s time you met Autonym.
Hailing from West Yorkshire, UK, Autonym are a hard rock and metal band who don’t believe in watering anything down. Since forming in 2020, they’ve been building a sound that’s big, gritty, and made to be played loud. Their debut EP, Solace, arrived fast and fearless, setting the tone for what the band is all about: heavy riffs, blues-soaked grit, and real emotion at the core.
Influenced by the likes of Black Stone Cherry, Pearl Jam, Shinedown, Black Sabbath, and Alter Bridge, Autonym blends classic hard rock weight with modern edge. It’s a sound that feels familiar but never stale, instead raw, powerful, and unapologetically honest.
The band is made up of David McCormack (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Mark Winstanley (lead guitar and backing vocals), Connor Craig-Jackson (bass), and Blake Kendrick (drums). Together, they operate as a tight, hard-hitting unit, both on record and on stage. And it shows, tracks like “Where We All Going” and “Paying The Piper” have clocked up strong streaming numbers, becoming fan favourites along the way.
But Autonym’s real strength lies in their live shows. They’ve earned their reputation the proper way: by getting on stage, turning the amps up, and leaving a mark. Sharing bills with artists like Dan Byrne, Oli Brown, and Black Spiders, they’ve proven time and again that they can hold their own.
Their latest single, “Rules of Engagement,” offers a deeper, more reflective side without losing any punch. Featuring guest vocals from Toria, the track balances atmosphere and weight, tackling loyalty, conflict, and standing your ground when things get tough.
With their upcoming album Winter landing on February 6th 2026, and a UK tour following in March, Autonym are stepping into their biggest chapter yet, louder, heavier, and more focused than ever.
