Nathalie Zagar Abitbol is redefining what it means to live a creative life with purpose. A producer and certified script supervisor whose career already spans more than 30 projects, Nathalie brings together a rare mix of discipline, curiosity, and cultural fluency that has become the hallmark of her work.
Born in Mexico City to French parents, Nathalie grew up surrounded by languages, perspectives, and artistic influences that shaped her love of storytelling. Fluent in French, Spanish, and English, she learned early on that communication is an art form in itself, one that can bridge worlds. As an only child, she was encouraged to explore every interest and possibility, from 15 years of classical ballet to piano, figure skating, and musical theater. Those early passions not only instilled creativity, but also the determination and resilience that continue to define her professional journey.
A Global Education in Storytelling
After completing her International Baccalaureate at The American School Foundation in Mexico City, Nathalie earned a scholarship to Universidad Anáhuac, later deciding to follow her instincts and study Communications and Performing Arts at Universidad Iberoamericana. She graduated in 2020, right as the world came to a halt during the pandemic. But rather than seeing it as a setback, Nathalie turned it into an opportunity to grow, setting her sights on a new challenge abroad.
In early 2021, she moved to the United States to attend the New York Film Academy, completing the One-Year Conservatory in Acting for Film and later the Associate of Fine Arts program, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2023. While there, she discovered her true calling, producing and script supervising, and trained under renowned mentor Randi Feldman through the Cinema Workshop for Script Supervising in Film and Television, earning certification in 2024.
From Film Sets to Vertical Dramas
With over 30 productions now to her credit, including two feature films and six mini-series, Nathalie’s precision and leadership have made her a sought-after collaborator for directors and producers. Her credits include a string of popular vertical dramas that air on Kalos TV, such as Rose Crown, Falling in Love with My Ex-Husband Again, A Trade of Hearts, CEO Wants My Little Rascal, My Vampire System, and the upcoming Whoops! I Accidentally Married a Lying Duke.
The world of vertical content has presented unique challenges and opportunities.
“On a vertical drama, we film 10 to 14 pages a day, compared to a traditional four or five,” Nathalie explains. “It’s an intense, fast-paced environment where every take counts.”
Despite the rapid production cycles, these series feature elaborate sets, luxury vehicles, and large-scale party scenes, giving them the polish and production value of a feature film condensed into just 10 days of shooting. The result: millions of views and growing recognition across streaming platforms.
Excellence Behind the Scenes
In addition to her work in film and television, Nathalie is part of the Show Control team at Universal Studios Hollywood, contributing to large-scale productions like Water World and Halloween Horror Nights. The experience, she says, strengthened her ability to stay calm under pressure and coordinate across complex technical departments, skills that translate seamlessly to the fast-moving world of production.
Her curiosity extends far beyond the screen. Recently, she completed an online program in Motorsports Marketing and Partnerships, inspired by her lifelong passion for Formula 1. It’s an unexpected but fitting reflection of her character: a fascination with speed, precision, and performance, qualities mirrored in her work on set.
Building a Career with Purpose
Nathalie’s dedication has not gone unnoticed. Several of her projects have earned awards and screened at international film festivals, and she now serves as a reviewer for the prestigious HollyShorts Film Festival, helping select the next generation of cinematic voices. For her, success is not measured solely in credits, but in the trust, she’s earned from directors who call her back again and again.
Fluent in four languages, endlessly curious, and driven by a love of learning, Nathalie embodies the spirit of modern filmmaking, global, adaptable, and fearless. Whether she’s on set, in the editing room, or exploring a new discipline, her philosophy remains constant: live with authenticity, pursue what ignites your passion, and never stop growing.
“Life doesn’t always go according to plan,” Nathalie reflects, “but sometimes the unexpected paths lead to the most rewarding destinations. Success, to me, is waking up every morning with fire in your soul, ready to give your best to the world.”
