“Every tree deserves recognition, every law needs responsibility, and every community must have hope,” says Sukhrobjon Safoev, an environmental law specialist whose work has earned international acclaim.
Born with a passion for protecting nature, Safoev has built a career at the intersection of law, ecology, and sustainable development. With advanced training in environmental law, climate change mitigation, and green energy, he has contributed to shaping policies that impact communities, governments, and ecosystems globally.
Sukhrobjon Safoev’s projects demonstrate both innovation and practical impact. One of his signature initiatives, the Yashil Makon (Green Nature) platform, assigns digital passports and ID numbers to each planted tree, enabling transparency and sustainability in reforestation efforts. In addition, he has advised national and regional governments on legal frameworks for waste management, water conservation, and renewable energy, translating complex scientific and legal concepts into actionable policy.
Internationally recognized, Safoev has served as a lead evaluator and judge at multiple environmental forums, including the Asian Environmental Protection and Climate Change Forum (2021), the Best Ecoland Projects Tournament (2022), and an Eco-Tourism Seminar (2023). These appointments reflect global trust in his judgment and expertise.
Awards and honors have followed naturally from his accomplishments. These include the Ecology Expo 2020 in Belarus, recognition at the 9th World Sustainability Forum (Singapore, Basel, Toronto), the Protector of Nature badge in Uzbekistan, and accolades from the 27th International Environment Forum Conference in New York. Each award represents not only personal achievement but the broader impact of his work on society and the environment.
As a member of ACTED, a leading French NGO, Sukhrobjon Safoev applies the philosophy of “Think local, Act global,” engaging civil society and empowering local stakeholders to advocate for biodiversity and climate resilience. His work through ACTED bridges international knowledge and local action, showing that environmental solutions are most effective when they are grounded in community engagement.
Education has also been a key milestone. In 2024, Safoev earned an LL.M. from UC Davis, one of the world’s leading law schools. This training strengthened his ability to address complex environmental challenges through the lens of law and policy, further enhancing his capacity to innovate at the global level.
Reflecting on his journey, Safoev notes: “Environmental law is not just about regulations. It is about people, nature, and the generations who depend on both. My goal is to create systems where policy, science, and community action work together for a sustainable future.”
With a combination of international recognition, innovative projects, and global advocacy, Sukhrobjon Safoev continues to shape the field of environmental law and climate change mitigation, inspiring both peers and communities to take meaningful action.
