Soon, Grown by Freedom, a documentary about the devastating war in Ukraine, will be available to stream on various global platforms. The movie’s condensed version has already been screened at the Berlin Economic Forum.
The creator of Grown by Freedom, renowned Ukrainian businesswoman Alyona Shevtsova, shared that her film provides a comprehensive analysis of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine caused by Russia’s full-scale invasion in late February 2022.
Grown by Freedom uses actual footage captured during the initial stages of the invasion, depicting the destruction of Ukrainian cities, bombings, and the harrowing accounts of eyewitnesses. The film portrays the unity and strength of the Ukrainian people, who stood together with the business community against the aggressors.
Alyona Shevtsova believes that the documentary serves as a chronological record for future generations to understand the suffering of Ukrainians during this trying period. She expressed her desire for people across the globe to view this documentary, and signing a contract with Netflix is the team’s primary objective.
The production of the documentary was supported by IBOX BANK and the LEO International Payment System from Ukraine. IBOX BANK and its staff assisted Ukrainians during the war’s early and later stages, making them the main protagonists in the film.
The mother of one of the famous defenders of Azovstal, Dmitry Kozatsky (aka “Orest”), Irina, who was once held captive by Russia, also plays a significant role in the documentary. The film highlights Ukrainians’ bravery and determination to uphold their freedom amidst the atrocities of war.
Those are employees of various companies, their relatives, and friends sharing their experience and vision of the war. They will share their feelings during the occupation, and tell the audience about the evacuation during shelling, forced life abroad, volunteer activities, and the transformation of the regular life of working people in Ukraine and all around the world. The «Grown by Freedom» documentary will be definitely interesting to viewers in the USA, United Kingdom, Canada, as well as European, Asian and other countries.
