Question: Congratulations on the release of your new EP! Can you tell us about the inspiration behind this project and what themes or emotions you aimed to convey through your music?
Answer: Thank you!! The inspiration behind the project was to basically tell a story of the 3 stages of a relationship (in this case one that I had). Chill out the first track tells the story of when I met this boy for the first time touching on emotions of happiness, excitement and euphoria, next, Bad @ Luv (the second track) is an apology song to the same person for hurting them without having intended too and lastly I’m not ur mother is a track consisting of emotions of frustration, confusion and anger after this guy I had a great relationship with just suddenly cut me off. However as the EP title states: “Diary of the Girl Next Door”, believe it or not, each song is inspired by a real diary entry I’ve written in those moments and I even posted the actual ones for the fans to catch a genuine essence of where the songs came from.
Question: Your previous works have showcased a diverse range of styles. How does this EP differ from your previous music, and how would you describe its overall sound?
Answer: This EP is just me singing with my guitar since I felt as though it was the closest sounding thing to me essentially telling you the story of what happened to me. Therefore I feel it really adds to the idea of a Girl Next Door simply serenading you with the retellings of an experience which brought her much joy, heartbreak and frustration.
Question: The title of your EP, “Diary “of The Girl Next Door” is intriguing. Could you share the significance of this title and how it relates to the tracks featured on the record?
Answer: Yes! I basically thought of this title when I was out on a walk during golden hour because it’s when I get my best ideas, and when this title hit me, I just really felt like I had got something great! Since all my songs were based on my real life experiences, I had written diary entries in each stage of the experience, and so I thought it would be the perfect title because the songs are essentially coming right out of my diary, just with a melody to accompany them.
Question: Collaborations with other artists can often bring unique perspectives to a project. Did you work with any other musicians or producers on this EP, and if so, how did they influence the final outcome?
Answer: I didn’t work with any other musicians on this EP but during Easter I worked with one of my good Childhood friends, a producer called 5:47 and we collaborated on a special musical surprise for my fans to thank them for all the support!! We were literally inseparable when we were younger and we’d go to each others houses, make up imaginary worlds and mess around, so it’s just crazy to think we’re now both artists and collaborating on a project together, just look at how the night changes!!
Question: Many artists have a favorite track on their album, one that resonates with them on a personal level. Do you have a favorite song on this EP, and if yes, what makes it special to you?
Answer: Yes!! My fave track is definitely Bad @ Luv because it’s my most honest song. I wrote bad @ luv after I had indirectly hurt a person I had really cared about and so I feel like stepping up and holding accountability for that takes a lot of courage and I was glad that I had found the right words to express this uncomfortable truth I had faced. Overall I am obsessed with the guitar riff and melody so it really holds a special place in my heart in all departments!!
Question: As an artist, the creative process can be both rewarding and challenging. Can you walk us through the journey of creating this EP and any memorable experiences you had during its production?
Answer: One of the most memorable moments of every release I do is when my fans hear the music for the first time and when we have the release party together!! This release I can still remember the reactions of everyone when I put out the EP trailer, it was a very special trailer to me because it was filmed in my hometown London and I took them on an adventure through the city including my fave park, Hyde park and so when I scrolled through the comments of everyone saying how excited they were before even hearing a single hint of music was simply one of the most rewarding and heartwarming moments. If any of you guys are reading this, I truly love the family we have made!
Question: Each song on the EP likely carries its own story. Is there one particular song that holds a special place in your heart due to the story or message it conveys?
Answer: I really like the message of Chill out! I think it’s so easy for us (I’m guilty of doing this too) to start acting uptight or completely different when we are with someone we really like. So what I wanted to say in chill out was to basically tell the guy who was trying so hard to impress me to just “chill out” and I would like him for him. Therefore, this message was especially important to me because you need to realise a person will begin to like you when you are being you and not pretending to be somebody else, and if they like you for the pretend version of you they are just not the right person.
Question: Music videos can add a new dimension to the listening experience. Are there any plans to release music videos for any of the songs on this EP? If yes, can you give us a hint of what we can expect?
Answer: Ooh great questions!!! There is 100% a MV on the way!! I actually finished filming it on the morning of my birthday which was a few days ago and teased it on my story (not many people guessed correctly) , but I can’t tell you which song it will be for…that’s a secret…BUT I CAN TELL U ITS MY FAV MUSIC VID YET!!!
Question: How do you envision your fans connecting with this new EP? What do you hope they take away from the music and lyrics?
Answer: I really hope that they can take my stories and make them theirs. I had so many touching and heartwarming DMs from them where they were telling me stories of how they had been treated in relationships in the past and how the songs really resonated with them. So I dont want to impose a message for them to take away, instead I’d like you guys to take my songs and make them your own, that’s what I envsion!
Question: The music industry has evolved significantly, especially in recent years. How have these changes impacted your approach to creating and releasing music, and how do you navigate the current landscape?
Answer: The music has become alot more social media based and to be honest it’s been the most amazing journey for me. Without it I would not have been able to build my platforms and connect with so many people! I have built the most amazing family called the #AMF where we share such close bonds with one another so it’s the most rewarding and special feeling to share my music and art with them and see how they take it, shape it and make it theirs!
Question: Your EP cover artwork is captivating. Could you share the story behind the design and how it visually represents the essence of the music within?
Answer: If you hadn’t guessed it my EP is all about the girl next door. And since I want the listeners to feel the genuine essence of the music, I wanted to portray how the songs are truly coming from me therefore the EP cover of my standing in front of the door perfectly displays how I am the girl next door retelling my stories and experiences directly to you!
Question: Lastly, is there anything else you’d like to share with your fans and the listeners who are eager to dive into your new EP? Any special message or shout-outs you’d like to give?
Answer: If you have made it all the way to the end of this article I want to give you a massive shoutout but also massive thank you for supporting me and my music!!! I really hope that you’ll be taken on a journey with the three songs on the EP and that you will find yourself in my experiences however big or small the similarity may be.
