MB-Are you from Chicago?
RM-Damn near I’ve been here long enough hell I feel like I am locked in the maze in this city. It
is a beautiful place to live, but you must have money.
MB– It is a thrill to meet you. Finally, our phone friendship is a year old now (laughing).
RM– Yeah, time flew by. I have since retired from AT&T and have adjusted back to studio life. I
tried to do production and work, but it was impossible. My mental and the demand to make
numbers on the job dismantled my creative process.
MB– When it comes to production, what is your primary genre of music.
RM– In this order R&B, Rap, and House. To be honest I can do any style of music if the money
MB– Tell me about the new Versus Zero Digital I have noticed that your marketing is heavy.
RM– Well Versus Zero Digital is my new business venture; it is a Digital Record Label,
eCommerce site, and marketing company.
MB– If you are looking for artist? “I sing” just kidding.
RM– I have secured a brilliant situation with sales from the versuszero.com website ; we
wholesale workout equipment in addition I have two deals on the table. I’m just taking my time
in decision-making because I have my own financing.
MB– So, who have you signed thus far?
RM– Currently, I did a joint venture with Harry Dennis. His voice and poetry are a staple in
house music history. His album will be the first official release on the label.
MB-Nice! this is a house record label, then?
RM: Versus Zero is a culture-driven label if you feel me. I look at the artist as colors of paint. I
already have a house, I just need to paint the rooms with artist. I am in love with the sound of
an artist named Tyriq Griffin and Roze Red we have had relations with both artist since they
were very young. I am trying to create situations for both artists come 2022.
MB: I notice that Harry Dennis “ICONIC” has a strong buzz dragging your name right behind
RM– That’s what’s up, Melli; our whole game plan is to create buzz and sale streams.
MB– Is there a particular reason you felt you needed to produce the Harry Dennis record?
RM– Yes, because it wasn’t going to get done on less, I validated Harry Dennis’s worth to the
game. He believes in my vision, and I believe in him.
MB– You have so much swag, Ronnie Mac; at times, your very temperament?
RM: Hold on, wait a sec, please explain to me, Melli, you lost me.
MB: I am so sorry I did not mean to insult you it’s just that your like interviewing a mob boss.
RM: Melli B, I am fucking with you. I’m good; I will admit that I am a bit demanding at time’s
because we don’t have money to jag off a bag on an artist and then re-group.
MB– Are you still going to take me to Boce’s”?
RM– Nope! I’m taking you to Midway Airport so you can publish this interview
MB– See that’s what I’m talking about and you know I’m hungry.
RM– Okay lets go out to Boce’s I love their hot wings.
MB– One last question and we are done you mentioned that you were releasing the ‘ICONIC’
album as NFT what is this?
RM– My reason for this is we can service the “ICONIC’ record as a digital asset in which we will
sell online with cryptocurrency. This album will be one of a kind in which we will break down
and sell limited copies of singles and Harry Dennis art work. This way we can control stream,
market, and generate revenue’s on our on NFT platform.
