Manchester-born Joshua Hudson is a powerful symbol in a world that tends to value perfection above all else, reminding us that our true strength lies in accepting our imperfections and solidarity.
The 33-year-old influencer, focused on health and well-being, is rapidly gaining prominence as he showcases authenticity through his candid approach in his social media campaign ‘The Happiness Project’. This is a space for discussing mental health topics, seeking support, and connecting with similar individuals in a safe environment.
In 2005, at the age of 15, Joshua shocked his family and friends by revealing that he had attempted suicide. He later tried again in 2019, causing him to need plastic surgery. These attempts led him to advocate for others dealing with similar struggles.
Speaking directly to Joshua, he says, “It means everything to me because helping others helps me unbelievably, It helped give me a purpose and a sense of belonging – something I never felt I had. Using my good and bad days to show people the reality of mental illness not only gives followers a realistic picture of what it’s like to live with it but also helps people realise they’re not alone. It’s also taught me as a man how important it is to be vulnerable and not feel shame or guilt for struggling”.
At the core of Josh’s message is the belief that vulnerability is not a sign of weakness, but a testament to our shared humanity as he shares his own story. Through courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication, he has become a beacon of hope for those struggling in the shadows.
By sharing his own story, Joshua has empowered countless individuals to confront their struggles and seek support.
The campaign, established in 2017, has accumulated over 130,000 supporters and continues to grow daily, serving as a strong reminder that recognizing our limitations is where our true strength lies.
