Risking one’s life to safeguard the lives of others is among the greatest act of humanity. Thus, people whose works involve such acts of humanity deserve huge appreciation, motivation, and support to carry on. The significant role played by physicians and other health workers since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic to save lives projects them as heroes in the battle against the pandemic.
As a way of showing appreciation, Minoo, a Switzerland-based American visual artist, shows support for caretakers in Swiss local hospitals sharing a unique creative gift package. The package named “Serenity” contains an original paintings, original poems, and a box of chocolates. It was distributed across major Switzerland hospitals, including University Hospitals in Geneva, Zurich, Bern, and Lausanne.
Upon receipt, these hospitals all expressed their gratitude towards the unique gesture. The chocolates were shared with all staff members present, while the management promised to hang the paintings in a special place for all staff members to see. University hospital Lausanne was so excited that they added the project in their latest newsletter and sent it to the entire staff, which generated more positive feedback from people initially not addressed.
While explaining the drive behind the kind gesture, Minoo said, “I have several friends who work in the medical field who tell me how tired and disillusioned their colleagues are. The pandemic has been going on for so long that the care teams are stretched to their limits, and I wanted to show them that their efforts are not forgotten.”
Before now, the abstract painting artist has previously embarked on charitable creative projects in hospitals to help patients fighting cancer find some carefree moments during their treatment.

At the dawn of coronavirus pandemic two years back, doctors and other medical personnel were at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic. And in appreciation of the whole world came together to show support for their noble act of saving lives.
Unfortunately, the situation seems to have changed slightly today. Not much attention is given to health workers like before, probably because people are getting increasingly frustrated with the new normal caused by the pandemic.
Meanwhile, now is the time hospitals staff needs our supports more, judging by the discovery of new Covid variants and the towering numbers of infected persons that see hospital ICUs get fully occupied.
It’s vital to note that most health workers deal with different personal issues, social and economic hardship caused by the pandemic yet still work daily to save lives. It’s not all glamorous for these heroes; hence, we need to show them we care.
