Music is the biggest point of connection in people’s life. Having your favorite songs be played and appreciated around the globe can help you feel a new level of appreciation and love for the music. And yet, making good renditions of songs can be challenging and often requires a lot of talent and skill. The mariachi band, Mariachi Quinto sol, has both the skill and talent necessary to bring many of your favorite songs to the stage while incorporating mariachi sounds to songs you might not have been expecting to hear.
The band is made up of six members. The band leader and main singer, Roberto Diaz, the Violinists Krystal and Nicole, the guitarist Omar, the Guitarronista Jessica, and the Trumpet player Elias. Together, the six have managed to become the first mariachi band to perform at the legendary Whiskey a go-go in Los Angeles, CA three times. They have also performed at The Airliner in Los Angeles and have quickly begun finding fame with their remakes of popular songs in mariachi style.
Their version of Tennessee Whiskey for example manages to capture the essence of the song, while fully changing the rhythm to a mariachi style. Another fan favorite from the arsenal of songs is Valerie, a song made popular by the incredible Amy Winehouse. Valerie in particular has also gotten them some social media attention as well, as it has become one of their most popular songs.
Now they are preparing to drop a version of the Netflix TV show, Narcos’ theme song, called TUYO. The song will be released on the 17th of June, and judging from their previous work, this arrangement is bound to be exquisite and retain the vibe of the song while changing the music to a mariachi style. Apart from releasing the song on all streaming platforms, they are also set to release a video accompanying it on YouTube.
