London is considered one of the most expensive cities to visit worldwide.Well, this isn’t entirely false. It is home to some of the most expensive places to visit and live in. Some of these places are so expensive that many of the tourists end up blowing their budgets.

However, some of the best places to visit in London are entirely free. It will help you save money and still have a similar London experience without going out of your budget. Bellow, there are free must-do things in London that will help you handle this expensive city like a pro. If you want to get more info free things to do in London you can visit places.

Watching the Queens Guard

It’s no myth when one says that you haven’t experienced London without watching the Changing of the Guard ceremony, especially for a visitor. This ceremony is held at three main places: Buckingham Palace, the Wellington Barracks, and St. James Palace.

The ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. at times, it’s held earlier, especially during summer. The ceremony attracts tourists worldwide, and if you want to enjoy the entire ceremony, you should arrive earlier before the entire area is packed with curious visitors.

Take a Walk along the Southern Bank

The Southern Bank stretches five square kilometers along the Banks of the river Thames. If you want a free and relaxed place to take a stroll, this is the place for you.
While walking along the place, you will go through Borough Market, Shakespeare’s Globe, the Southbank Central, Southwark Cathedral, the Royal Festival Hall, the Tower Bridge, and Westminster Bridge.
You will find Gabriel’s Wharf at 56 Upper Ground, on the southern bank. It has been developed into a shopping area where you can get some of the best shops selling London’s art.

Tate Modern

Tate Modern is one of the art world’s largest museums of modern contemporary. What’s unique about the place is that there are no admission charges to view the collection displays, which cover the major area of the gallery space. The art displayed dates from the early16thcentury to the percent day art. However, tickets are purchased to view the major temporary exhibitions.

Additionally, you can head to The Switch House, an extension of Tate Modern. It offers additional space for the art display. It makes visiting Tate Modern the best thing to do in London.

A Walk at Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square is one of the best free places to visit. The Square was named after the Battle of Trafalgar. It was designed by John Nash in the 1820s and constructed in the 1830s. The Square is managed by the Great London Authority but owned by the queen of the Crown.

The square design is such that Nelson’s Column is flanked by fountains while in the middle of the Square and guarded by four monumental bronze lion sculptures. The topmost statue is of the British Navy commander Horatio Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar.

Stroll through the Famous Street Markets

London hosts some of the best street markets the world has to offer. A walk through these markets will enrich your mind with a different culture from all over the world. There is plenty to see, from some of the best world-class dishes to the cultural wares and sculptures.

Some of the markets you should consider putting up on your to-do list include; Brixton Village and Market Row, Alfie’s Antique Market, Borough Market, Brick Lane Market, Broadway Market, Camden Market, and Colombia Road Flower Market. Walking through these markets may end up being one of the best things you may do in London.

The British National Museum

The British National Museum is one of the most comprehensive and largest collections of human history and culture from the beginning of time. The Museum was constructed first in 1753 and was the first ever public Museum in the world, open to the public in 1759.

They did the expansion of the Museum over time due to colonization on the Montage House site that it currently sits on. Some of the most exciting and interesting things you may find include Egyptian mummies, Benin bronze artifacts, and African terracotta arts. Everything in this place is free.
